Flight to Excellence

The Flight to Excellence Program

Sponsored by the
Naval Aviation Museum Foundation
at the
National Museum of Naval Aviation
NAS Pensacola, Florida

OBJECTIVE: The Flight to Excellence Program incorporates educational IMAX® movies including The Magic of Flight and Coral Reef Adventure and accompanying teachers' guides. Through this program more than 160,000 school children ages 5 to 17 have been introduced to the scientific principles involved in flight.

OVERVIEW: The National Museum of Naval Aviation supports a wide range of academic topics including: academic research, mathematics, physics, aerodynamics, history, art and physiology. Thus, our teachers' guides and lesson plans are not designed to be all-inclusive; rather, they assist the educator in planning a more productive and enjoyable educati
onal field trip.
