Dozens
of hands-on, interactive
devices, computer kiosks and virtual reality flight
simulators are part of the Museum's Flight Adventure Deck Aeronautical
Science Exhibit.
Conceived
as a museum-school cooperative program, the National Museum
of Naval Aviation and two local school districts have developed
an educational curriculum for middle school children, using
the Flight Adventure Deck to facilitate lessons in science and
math. The program introduces 6th, 7th
and 8th graders to the science and math of flight,
using Museum displays and the Flight Adventure Deck. A Teacher's
Guide for the Flight Adventure Deck, offering math and science
curricula for middle school grades six through eight, matching
state learning objectives with activities in the exhibit, is
provided to participating teachers. Learn
more about this formal science program.
At this
time, the Flight Adventure Deck is not open to the general public.
