Cockpit Trainers

Museum Activities > Cockpit Trainers

Have you ever wondered what the interior looks like in some of your favorite aircraft? If so, visit the Cockpit Trainers Exhibit and take the controls of an array of aircraft, including fighting jets like the A-6 Intruder, F-8 Crusader, and F-14 Tomcat, the submarine-huntng S2F Tracker, the AH-1 Sea Cobra attack helicopter and the unique AV-8 Harrier.

You are encouraged to climb inside these cockpits, move the control stick, flip switches, and pretend that you are actually flying. The playing of radio transmissions heard by actual aviators approaching an aircraft carrier add to the experience.  The cockpit trainers are located on the Second Deck of the South Wing. There is no charge to access the Cockpit Trainers Exhibit.
